Welcome to 'Nerd Neurons': A Brief Intro





With this first post I just want to talk about the blog itself, explain the idea and the concepts around it, as well give you a glimpse at things to come. What makes 'Nerd Neurons' different than other blogs on the web dedicated to Video-games, Comics, Movies, Music, Technology, Related Current events, etc is that this is not just about those things, but more so about those of us that enjoy those things. Those of us who fall under the label of 'Nerd'. I don't want this to be a blog simply for nerds, but one about nerds. I want to explore the Sub-culture and get inside our minds. I want to talk about what we think, how we think and why we think. Why we like what we like on a level that most people wouldn't think about. Example. Most would say that Star Trek VS. Star Wars is all about which ships are fastest, which protagonist are stronger, faster, smarter. Which Race would win in a war, etc. However, I'm here to say that there is more to it than that, something that we will be taking a larger look at later. Everything that we like, that makes us cringe, the we devout our time and money to I want to prove that there is more to it than meets the eye.I want to get us thinking about these things on a deeper level. I know I am not the first one to scrutinize these things on the kind of level I want to go. 'There is nothing new under the sun' and I'm sure this idea as been been done. However, if you fall into this category don't let that stop you from reading. Share in my observations, and let me know yours.



Another reason for the in-depth look is for the sake of understanding and unity within the subculture it's self.Just because I like one thing doesn't mean I have to hate the other, even if the other is it's competition. Why do I have to hate Mac Products just because I myself am a PC guy? How about instead I look at where Macs beat out PCs so I have an understanding of when someone prefers a MAC .We deal with enough bashing from the outside without having to beat each other over the head because we buy one game system over another. Flame wars will always occur. There will always be someone that refuses to look at what he as not deemed 'the best'. He will make long posts on the matter and criticize anyone who doesn't feel the same. For the rest of us though, let us gain an appreciation for what before we would have just said 'Sucks'.





Don't be too frightened. Not every entry will be in-depth analysis on why one likes Batman as opposed to Superman in hopes that we will all join hands and sing Kumbaya . In “Nerd Blog” fashion you can expect Movie Reviews, Comic Reviews, Polls, Nerd Related News, Random top 10 lists, Pictures of cute cats doing funny things, all that good stuff. In fact those kinds of post may take up the majority of my entries. Amongst all that though I want this blog to be a study. A mirror that we can look into that generates understanding and pride.





My goal is for one post week, however I'll be trying to achieve five post within the week. It doesn’t matter if it's just less than ten of my friends reading this, if this actually becomes popular, or if it's just me talking to myself, I'll be posting to all three locations (my FB notes Page, my TGWTG blog, and my Blogspot blog). Sometimes my post will be basis, other times they will be fair. Sometimes they will be humorous, other times comedy will take a backseat. The goal is to eventually turn this into a vlog but for now Put on your glasses and bust out the pocket protector and let's talk nerdy.
